Apocalypse 2012 - The End of the World

According to some religions, civilizations, and prophecy foreseers; The Apocalypse (End of the World) is near. Read and hear what the following have to say and judge for yourself.

According to the Mayan's:
The Mayans noticed the relative slippage of the positions of stars in the night sky over long periods of observation, indicative of precession, and foretold this great coming attraction. By using an invention called the Long Count, the Mayans fast-forwarded to anchor December 21, 2012 as the end of their Great Cycle and then counted backwards to decide where the calendar would begin. Thus the Great Cycle we are currently in began on August 11, 3114 BCE.

Einstein & 2012:
Albert Einstein once said : “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” According to sunspot theory, bees appear to be very sensitive to energy fluctuations. One study exposed a colony to bursts from a high-intensity magnetic field and concluded that the bees’ reactions revealed a high sensitivity to nuclear magnetic resonance, or NMR. This occurs when an electromagnetic wave alters the orientation of the nuclei of atoms.

Some scientists take the view that the next solar maximum may be one of the most intense ever. Mausumi Dikpati, an astronomer with the National Center for Atmospheric Research predicts a solar maximum for 2012, a phenomena that last occurred in 1958. The sunspot generates intense magnetism that can be felt on the earth. Dikpati even believes that it is possible electronics will be effected, for example GPS and mobile phone technology. Since solar cycle 24 began in 2007 according to Mausumi’s estimate, it’s possible that the behavior of bees is already being effected to some degree.

The Third World War would start when Russia suddenly attacks Europe in coalition with certain Middle Eastern countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya and probably China. Prior to the World War III, USA would be severely crippled by terrorist attacks, assassinations, a civil war and an economic collapse. Prior to that, there would be a civil war in Italy, during which the Vatican would be overrun by the mob. The Pope would escape but many of his cardinals would die. The palace and the chapels would be burnt down. While on the run, the Pope would be captured and killed. There would be a schism in the Vatican and three Popes would reign at the same time, propped up by competing powers. Supported by US and other catholic countries, the Papacy would be shifted elsewhere and a "true" Pope would be elected there. Europe would be almost overrun by the Russian and eastern forces and many of its cities and also those of USA would be destroyed by conventional weapons as well as weapons of mass destruction like nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. Russia would attack from the North as well as from the East of Europe. An Arab / Iranian army would attack from the south. The Pope, and later the British Prime Minister would be forced to flee to the US. Paris would be destroyed by "revolutionaries" within France. The attack on the US would stop the Civil War there. New types of weapons, like Chemical Weapons and particularly what appears to be portable Laser weapons, would be used in the war. At the same time an unprecedented disaster would take place. A comet would suddenly appear over the earth in the peak of the war, would break into several pieces and fall to the earth. Smaller pieces would rain fire on cities and forests all over the world, burning them down. A large piece would fall into the sea creating a Tsunami of Biblical proportions, flooding parts of Europe (including Britain), USA and Africa. One medium sized chunk would fall on land, creating a huge crater, resulting in earthquake and volcano activities all over the world. This event would loosen the grip of the invading army over Europe. A joint coalition of US and European forces under the leadership of a charismatic leader "Chiren" would organize a counter-attack against the invading forces in Europe and elsewhere. The Russian forces in Europe would be almost destroyed by the counter-attack and this would lead to a revolution in Russia and the Russian leader who started the war would be assassinated. Russia, under a new leader would then join the western coalition and fight against its former allies, who would eventually be defeated. The Pope would return to Europe and Chiren would be crowned the Monarch. Peace would return to the world after a loss of almost two-thirds of its population and the wealth of nations accumulated over millennia. But this would surely not be the end of the world.
Disaster & 2012:
  1. Super Volcano: The underwater volcanoes are increasing exponentially. The harmonic tremors are also on a steep rise. A 74,000 year cycle of devastating super volcano nears as we approach 2012. The December 2004 Tsunami epicenter points towards a possible site for the super volcano.According to some geologists, it is possible that the recent Tsunami is precursor to a massive shift in tectonic plates and a super volcanic eruption in that area dwarfing what happened even 74,000 years back.

  2. Sun Spots & Polar Shifts: There is evidence to suggest that 2012 will coincide with what is expected to be a very active year for sunspots. Some predictions even state that the sun is going through a magnetic pole shift, and this pole reversal may be brought about by the extreme solar activity of 2012.If this were to occur on the sun, it could bring about a devastating situation on the earth, including a pole shift. This pole shift on the earth may be actually occurring whether the sun shifts poles or not. One thing is for certain. The extreme weather we have been witnessing appears to be a direct influence from all the anomalous solar activity, not just the human induced “Global Warming” many are claiming.
Our Solar System & 2012:
  1. Asteroids: There are thousands of asteroids in hidden orbits that scientists cannot observe. Many of them were seen after they kissed the earth and went by in galactic scale. The known danger from the asteroid is in 2028. But some scientists are watching the possibilities that a hidden asteroid in a stealth-path can destroy human civilization by hitting the earth on December 21, 2012. This is the same date when Mayans predicted the end of the world. The probability that a ‘50-300 Meter (150-1000 Feet) Diameter Asteroid Hitting the Earth’ is 1 in 250. It can actually happen any time. The estimated fatalities would be 5000. The probability that a ‘1.5 Kilometer (1 Mile) Diameter Asteroid Hitting the Earth’ is 2 in 1 million with estimated fatalities of 1.5 billion. A similar catastrophe by a ‘10 Kilometer (6 Mile) Diameter, or greater, Asteroid Hitting the Earth’ has a probability of 1 in 100 million with 10 Billion fatalities.
  2. Hyperspace: According to scientists and technologists something strange is happening behind the scene. The terrestrial and solar polar reversal peaks are coming within three weeks of that day, December 21, 2012. Innumerable UFOs are scouting our skies regularly and increasing as we approach that day. The tectonic plate shifts, underwater volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides and Tsunamis are increasing at rates never seen before. The solar flares are increasing. The earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere are experiencing strange disturbances. The numbers of typhoons and cyclones have increased many folds. The number of floods and droughts has increased beyond imaginations in the last ten years. Scientists who look beyond conventional science point out that that the Hyperspace that contain our Universe is also showing signs that something strange is happening in our universe. The multidimensional time research is showing that a parallel universe may be predicting strange effects.
Planet X/ Niburu:

Religions & 2012:
  1. Tibertan Monks: Between 2010 and 2012, the whole world will get polarized and prepare for the ultimate dooms day. Heavy political maneuvers and negotiations will take place with little progress. In 2012, the world will start plunging into a total destructive nuclear war.And at that time something remarkable will happen, says, Buddhist monk of Tibet. Supernatural divine powers will intervene. The destiny of the world is not to self-destruct at this time.Scientific interpretation of the monks’ statements makes it evident that the Extra Terrestrial powers are watching us every step of the way. They will intervene in 2012 and save the world from self-destruction.When asked about recent UFO sightings in India and China, the monks smiled and said the divine powers are watching us all. Mankind cannot and will not be allowed to alter the future to that great extent.Every human being though their current acts in life called “Karma” can alter the future lives to some extent, but changing the destiny in that large extent will not be allowed to that great an extent. Monks also mentioned that beyond 2012 our current civilization would understand that the final frontier of science and technology is in area of spirituality and not material physics and chemistry. Beyond 2012, out technologies will take a different direction. People will learn the essence of spirituality, the relation between body and the soul, the reincarnation and the fact we are connected with each other are all part of “God”.In India and China UFO sightings have increased in many folds. Many say the Chinese and Indian Governments are being contacted by the Extra Terrestrials. In recent days most UFO activities have been seen in those countries who have indigenously developed Nuke capabilities. When asked if these extra-terrestrials will show up in reality in 2012, the answers remote viewers are giving is: they will reveal themselves in such a way that none of us scared. They will reveal themselves only if they have to. As our science and technology progresses, we are destined to see them and interact with them any way.According to the remote viewers, our earth is blessed and is being saved continuously from all kinds of hazards all the time that we are not even aware of. As our technologies progress we will realize how external forces saved us.

  2. Kabballah: Rabbi Kaduri issued the following call: ”This declaration I find fitting to issue for all of the Jews of the world to hear. It is incumbent upon them to return to the Land of Israel due to terrible natural disasters which threaten the world.”"In the future, the Holy One, Blessed be He, will bring about great disasters in the countries of the world to sweeten the judgements of the Land of Israel."“I am ordering the publication of this declartion as a warning, so that Jews in the countries of the world will be aware of the impending danger and will come to the Land of Israel for the buliding of the Temple and revelation of our righteous Mashiach (Messiah).”Rabbi Kaduri also stated that the upcoming year would be a year of "secret and revelation" in the world. The Jewish year 5766 begins in less than three weeks, with the holiday of Rosh Hashana. The Rabbi explained that the numerical Hebrew abbreviation for 5766, tav, shin, samech, vav gives insight into the nature of the upcoming year. "This will be a year of secret (or sod, from the letter samech) and revelation (or v'giliu from the letter vav.)"

  3. Bible Code: This one is a long watch....

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 5:

The I-Ching:
The I Ching, also known in the West as The Book of Change, may be the oldest book in the world. Originating thousands of years ago among the courtly shaman-diviners of ancient China, it springs out of the unconditioned consciousness of primeval humanity. Here are truly fundamental perceptions of reality, distilled into inter-related images of physical and spiritual reality. The images are associated with numbers and graphs, and the numbers may be derived from certain technical manipulations that enable a skilled psychic reader to use the book as an oracle. In fact, the book has been used and abused for fortune telling from its earliest days. It had itself evolved out of a still more ancient divining tool known as the Tortoise Oracle, which wisdom it incorporated.
The most compelling piece of information within these graphs is the end point at 2012. According to the software McKenna used, and the information supposedly released upon him by the collective unconscious (or the logos) was a future end date in that year, precisely December 21, 2012. This end date is not the Armageddon usual in end-of-the-world theories; instead it is the point of highest novelty throughout time. This could be interpreted as the most major paradigm shift we have ever known, and limiting it only to humankind would be folly. McKenna has theorized that it may be the year we make contact, or realize some means to transverse space and time, or artificialintelligence becoming such a reality that it becomes an omega point of sorts for the universe. His personal conviction, and also the one I most subscribe to if I were subscribing to any of this, is a return to the Invisible Landscape, a means to leave our fleshy bodies behind and become one with the cosmos.

What's New in Windows 7?

Improved User Interface - Vista looks a lot like XP, an important thing for ease of transition from one operating system to the next. So, naturally, Windows 7 will look an awful lot like Vista, but, that's not to say that it won't deliver a number of important additions, perhaps the biggest being a series of "gestures" that will interpret your mouse hovering over something as an indication that you'd like to see more information about it. PC Mag's Michael Muchmore provides some further details:
Hovering your mouse over a Taskbar button brings up horizontal preview thumbnails of each document open in an app, and hovering over one of those brings up a full-screen preview of the document. You can now drag Taskbar buttons along the bar, positioning them where you like, instead of where the OS wants to put them.

New Applications - While most choose to install productivity suites likeOpenOffice or Microsoft's own Office, Windows has always come with applications, like Calculator and Wordpad, both of which will see some visual tweaks to make them look a little less dated. Some new apps will come along as well, like Sticky Notes, as described by Download Squad's Lee Matthews:
Other small but useful additions abound, like sticky notes. Notes can be posted around your desktop and then gathered to a virtual corkboard - release them to their original locations with a single click. Create a new note and it's automatically saved. Should you close the board by accident, it'll remember the position of all your stickies when you relaunch.

Better Security - As mentioned above, Vista hasn't proven to be completely impenetrable, but it is a big step forward in terms of security when compared to XP, which has proven to be... less than secure. From what we've heard so far, Windows 7 won't be a huge step forward in this respect, but will include some useful additions, including security for something that more and more people are using: USB thumb drives. PC Pro's Barry Collins explains:
IT departments can set a group policy that forces USB drives to be encrypted before the employee's allowed to copy files off the corporate network on to the stick, saving IT departments from employing more drastic measures, such as disabling USB ports.

Less Annoying - Vista may be more secure, but it came at quite a cost: the User Account Control, or UAC. The UAC is what's responsible for the incessant pop-ups that ask you if you're sure you want to install this app, or delete that file, or allow access to this drive to this program. Windows 7 will also include the UAC, but PC Mag's Michael Muchmore indicates you can tone it down:
In Windows 7, the UAC enforcement can be adjusted with a slider ranging from Always notify to Never notify... You can tell also Window 7 to only notify you when programs try to install software but not for system changes as a halfway measure, with the most stringent choice being to notify for both activities and to wait for your response.

Bottom Line: It's Much the Same - So, Windows 7 definitely has some tidy improvements, but ultimately it won't be that much different. This is a point PC Mag's Lance Ulanoff makes, stating "Instead of promising "Wow" (big mistake), Microsoft and Ballmer are coming right out and saying that this OS will be a lot like the last one, but in the best and most important ways." That sounds like change PC users can believe in -- whenever Windows 7 runs for your office.

Want to see what else Ulanoff has to stay, and see Windows 7 in action? Check out the video below. And for more in-depth and ongoing coverage of Windows 7, make sure to check out Download Squad.

Weird News: Mayor of Turkish City "Batman" Suing Christopher Nolan & Warner Brothers

According to MSNBC...
The mayor of the real city of Batman — an oil-producing city in southeast Turkey — is reportedly suing “Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros., seeking royalties from this summer’s box-office blockbuster.

In his lawsuit, Huseyin Kalkan, the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party mayor of Batman, is accusing Nolan and the studio of using the city’s name without permission.

“There is only one Batman in the world,” Kalkan said. “The American producers used the name of our city without informing us.”According to Variety, Kalkan is compiling a series of charges against the director and Warner Bros., which owns the right to the Batman character.

Among the charges are a claim that the use of the Batman name is to blame for several unsolved murders and a high female suicide rate, based on the psychological impact that the film’s success has had on the city’s inhabitants.

Kalkan claims he has evidence, which will show the city of Batman was founded before the 1939 debut of Bob Kane’s DC Comics superhero by the same name.

Strongest Man on Earth is from Egypt

Sayyed Muhammad Ahmad Abdallah is blessed with the power of 260 horses, roughly the equivalent of 30,000 men (Based on medical tests carried out). He has been married 24 times, fathered 35 children, and can bend coins with his eye socket and rip them with his hands. How this man can shake hands with someone without breaking all their fingers is beyond me!!! (Sayyed also claims that his dad was tested too and was 840hp)

The Amero - North American Currency

I highly doubt this would ever happen (this must be a fake). USA would let the dollar fall to record lows and still continue using it even if its worthless. Consider the amount of AMERO coins and bills that they have to produce, and even if that was an easy task, what would the rate of this currency be (most likely average of all 3). Still, America is too proud a country to ever give up on their dollar bill and include themselves in on any other joint currency.

The Biggest RC Planes in the World

With winter finally here many of my friends are going out and buying RC planes and indulging in what I think is one hell of an fun hobby (especially when they get bored from just flying around and start getting into dogfights with one another). I stumbled upon these RC models while researching what I would like to buy (However, these planes cost over KD10,000 and the answer to whether I would buy one is a definitive No).

But these behemoth of planes do raise the question... if I strapped someone to the back of these things would it still take off?

Movie Review: Quantum of Solace (2008)

After a masterful performance in Casino Royale, Daniel Craig as James Bond has degenerated into a generic action character that relies less on the combination of savvy and skill and more on ruthless brute force. The last time I checked, Bruce Willis in Die Hard was doing that sort of thing.

But ironically, what makes Quantum of Solace a bit of a joy to watch are the very good action and chase sequences in the first act of the film. We see a finely crafted car chase scene in the Italian highway and a run-around in a town Siena, Italy. Somewhere in the middle of the movie, action sequences were superimposed with an operatic soundtrack. Pretty spiffy, if you ask me.

But the real let down is the story. James Bond films were always about villains and their schemes that were easily understood by the audience. The villain was really a scrub, and the scheme was pretty weak. And how it was tied down together was really confusing at times. I can't help but compare this Quantum of Solace to Casino Royale. If Casino Royale was a royal flush, Quantum of Solace is just a straight.

3 Amazing Halloween Costumes of 2008

Animals in costumes/clothes freak me out (especially cats, because I don't like cats in the first place)... But whoever thought of the terrorist cat certainly IMO deserves an award for best Halloween costume of 2008.
